Royal Ascot betting tips and preview

We’ve picked out our Royal Ascot betting tips for the final day of this year’s showpiece event, with the Diamond Jubilee Stakes providing Group One action.

With up to 12,000 spectators back in attendance each afternoon, this has again been one of the highlights of Britain’s sporting and social calendars.

For those more focused on what happens on the track, here are seven Royal Ascot selections for Saturday.

2.30 Chesham Stakes

Aidan O’Brien claimed this Listed-class prize for a record fifth time last year with Battleground and returns with another firm favourite in the form of POINT LONSDALE.

A full brother to recent Group Two scorer and Hardwicke Stakes fancy Broome, this son of Australia kept on strongly from the front to score by five and a half lengths on his racecourse debut at the Curragh.

Point Lonsdale to win6/4

3.05 Jersey Stakes

NAVAL CROWN raced too freely for his own good when edged out by Tactical in the European Free Handicap and then fourth to Poetic Flare in the 2,000 Guineas but he remains full of potential.

Being by Dubawi, the heavy rain in Berkshire should hold no concerns and this seven furlongs Group Three race could be his ideal set-up if William Buick can just keep him calm in the early exchanges.

Naval Crown to win9/1

3.40 Hardwicke Stakes

LOGICIAN looked in need of the outing after a seven-month absence when third behind Al Aasy last month but that spin should hopefully have blown the cobwebs away.

The 2019 St Leger hero will have no stamina worries in this 1m 4f Group Two event despite testing conditions and has winning form with cut underfoot, so everything points towards him being a solid each-way option.

Logician to win11/1

4.20 Diamond Jubilee Stakes

Sir Michael Stoute will be hoping DREAM OF DREAMS can make it third time lucky in this race after going down by just a head in the past two renewals, losing out to Blue Point and then Hello Youmzain.

On both occasions, he was closing all the way to the line and an easy surface this season may just help him to get there in time.

Dream of Dreams to win10/3

5.00 Wokingham Stakes

KING’S LYNN was denied a clear passage at a crucial time when seventh of 16 in the King’s Stand Stakes on Tuesday but can gain some compensation now dropped down to handicap company.

The four-year-old had previously scored at Haydock on softish ground and is nicely treated on all known evidence, so fingers crossed he can provide The Queen with another popular Royal Ascot success.

King's Lynn to win3/1

5.35 Golden Gates Stakes

PYTHAGORAS has been highly tried this term in Derby trials at Epsom and York but showed enough when sixth in the Dante to suggest he is worth following now dropped in class.

Yorkshire handler Richard Fahey has already enjoyed success this week and can strike again with last season’s Beverley, Ripon and Pontefract scorer.

Pythagoras to win12/1

6.10 Queen Alexandra Stakes

Irish trainers have failed to dominate this five-day spectacular like other recent festivals but can have the last laugh in this marathon finale.

Stratum will attract support for Willie Mullins but slight preference is for Jessica Harrington’s BARBADOS, who was not given too hard a race when warming up with a Curragh third at the start of the month.

Barbados to win8/1
